Cleopatra Slot Guide

Game Introduction

Just as Helen of Troy’s beauty launched a thousand ships, ancient Egypt’s Cleopatra inspired a fleet of slots. The original Cleopatra slot emerged from IGT’s studio with its 5x3 gameboard in 2012.

As is customary with popular online slots from back in the day, IGT’s Cleopatra has an adjustable payline system. Depending on your preference, you can activate one, five, nine, 15, or 20 paylines.

Adjusting the number of active paylines dictates your total bet. For example, if you set the line bet value to $1 and activate 20 paylines, the total cost per spin is $20. Importantly, though, the only factor that matters when it comes to payouts is your line bet.

Three or more matching symbols trigger a payout multiplier. So, if you wager $1 per line and spin in a combination worth 10x, your payout is worth $10. Adding to the Cleopatra slot game’s potential are wilds and scatters that start a free spins bonus round.

What’s fun about Cleopatra?

Simplicity is one of Cleopatra’s greatest attributes, but it has a few surprises. These surprises are wild wins and the Cleopatra bonus game. They might be basic compared to the features you get in slots such as Pixies of the Forest 2, but that doesn’t mean they’re boring.

In fact, sticking to time-honoured slot mechanics ensures Cleopatra can be enjoyed by newbies and seasoned spinners alike. It also makes the game easy to follow, which reduces the worry you might have that the game isn’t fair (hint: it’s completely fair).

Cleopatra slot’s top features

The eponymous heroine of this online slot is the wild symbol. As the queen of ancient Egypt, it’s fitting that Cleopatra does more than substitute for other symbols. Her special talent is multiplying wins by 2x when she’s part of a winning combination.

The only time Cleopatra can’t exert her powers is when scatters are involved. Represented by the iconic sphinx, three or more scatter symbols trigger the Cleopatra bonus game where you get 15 free spins. However, before the bonus game starts, scatter wins are paid:

• Three scatters = 5x payout

• Four scatters = 20x payout

• Five scatters = 100x payout

Interestingly, you also get a 2x payout for spinning in two scatters. However, as per the rules of Cleopatra, two scatters don’t start the bonus round. Finally, any prizes you hit during the bonus game are multiplied by three, and you can trigger additional free spins (up to 180) by rolling at least three more scatters.

What you can win when you play Cleopatra online

You can play Cleopatra in Canada at PlayOJO for as little as 20 cents or as much as $100 per spin, depending on how much you can afford. The Cleopatra RTP is 95.02%, which puts it in line with the studio’s other popular classic, Double Diamond (95.44%).

Adding to Cleopatra’s potential is a medium volatility rating and a maximum payout of 10,000x your line bet. Payouts of that size are rare and typically only happen during the free spins bonus game. In the main game, standard payouts for matching three or more symbols start at 2x.

Another interesting quirk of this slot is that you can also win prizes worth 2x your line bet by matching two of the lowest-value symbols, which are the 9s. This is rare and another reason Cleopatra has been a hit since 2012.
